TriUtah 2007 Schedule
April 14th ? Buffalo Duathlon
Antelope Island State Park, Davis County, UT
Yep, we're bringing back this classic race!  It's too early to open water swim, so let's get out and at bike and run!  This event takes place on a great low traffic course on Antelope Island just west of Layton & Farmington, Utah on the Great Salt Lake.  This is THE event if you want to get out and HAMMER on a great course.   Sprint (20K bike/5K run) and Olympic (40K bike/10K run) events will be offered.  Antelope Island was the site of the U.S. National Time Trial Championships in June, 2005 as part of the National Cycling Festival.  Sponsored in part by the Davis Area Convention and Visitors' Bureau and the Utah State Division of Parks & Recreation.

May 19th ? Women?s Triathlon
Bountiful Recreation Center, Bountiful, UT
The Women?s Triathlon is back!!  Don?t miss this unique event.  With a short course, pool swim (and no men, unless you count the ones pushing strollers and chasing kids around) this is the perfect first time race or training race for seasoned athletes.  Dave Pruetz from In Training, LLC will be on-site the evening before the race at 7pm to walk through the course, transition area and answer any questions you may have.  The event is catered to women, complete with a red carpet finish, women?s prizes, women specific race shirts, finisher necklaces and a supportive atmosphere never to be forgotten.  The top three athletes will literally be crowned with honor for their excellence in physical fitness.  Prizes will be given to the top three overall and top age group athletes.  Also, don't forget to nominate your "Woman of Steel" to be presented once again at the Awards Ceremony.

June 16th ? Timpanogos Half Marathon
American Fork Canyton, Cedar Hills, UT
Downhill anyone?  Beginning at Tibble Fork Reservoir, you'll certainly PR on this course that takes you nearly 8 miles down beautiful American Fork Canyon, and then winds through Cedar Hills, with a fantastic finish at Lone Peak High School.  Whether this will be your first half marathon, or if you're looking for a great early training run for St. George or Top of Utah, this is it!  This event benefits the Lone Peak High School Cross Country program and is sponsored in part by the Utah County Convention and Visitors' Bureau.

July 14th ? XANGO Echo Triathlon
Echo Reservoir, Coalville, UT
XANGO is back!  So are the cash prize purses for each event going 5 deep!  Come experience perfect water temperature for open water swimming, followed by one of the most scenic triathlon bike courses in Utah as you ride through the red rock Echo Canyon.  Finish it off with a run course that winds traffic-free along the edge of the resevoir.  Both sprint and olympic courses available.  Benefits the Hess Cancer Foundation's "Fit for the Fight" campaign, helping families who have lost a child to cancer.

Aug 4th ? Cache Valley Classic Triathlon
Hyrum Reservoir, Hyrum, UT (near Logan)
Can you say "moo"?  Where else can you get a race t-shirt with a cow on it?  Maybe we'll even have some famous Cache Valley cheese for you to sample at the finish line.  Back for its 3rd year, the Cache Valley Classic will take you along quaint country roads in Hyrum with historically perfect air and water temperatures.  We have a new run course in store for 2007 (those of you who ran the extra 1/2 mile last year will be disappointed, right?) .  Benefits local Cache Valley high school cross-country programs.

Aug 25th ? Jordanelle Triathlon
2007 USAT Rocky Mountain Regional Championship
Jordanelle Reservoir, Park City, UT
Wondering how you were going to qualify for the 2008 USA Triathlon National Age Group Championship in Portland, OR?  The 2007 Jordanelle Triathlon has been named a "Championship" event by USAT, meaning that the top 33% of each age group (or Top 5, whichever is greater) in the Olympic distance event will qualify!  Both Sprint and Olympic distance events will be offered.

Sept 15th ? Ogden Valley Triathlon
Pineview Reservoir, Ogden Valley, UT
Last year's fluke weather turned it into the "Icemaker Triathlon".  Coldest weather in Utah in 42 years!  Just like the beautiful colors in the Ogden Valley at that time of year, we'll be back again with sprint and International distance events.  Same great bike course around Pineview Reservoir, followed by the "Taste of Ogden Valley" Festival featuring local Ogden Valley businesses.

Oct 20th ? Escape to Lake Powell Triathlon
Bullfrog Marina, Lake Powell, UT
Jumped off a houseboat before?  We'll bet you've never had to swim 1 mile to shore!  It's going to be a party to remember at Lake Powell, one of Utah's most popular (and most beautiful) recreation areas.  We're still working on the details, but start preparing now to close out your 2007 triathlon season with a trip to Lake Powell!  Tentative distances are: 1 mile swim/18 mile bike/6 mile run (maybe more, maybe less, more details TBA).  Special discount to anyone who can prove they raced in one of the original Lake Powell triathlons!

What we're planning for 2008:
1)  TriUtah ½ Iron Long Course Triathlon
2)  Open Water Women's-Only Triathlon
